In full screen mode, the usual window controls are not available. To end a program:
With a touch screen: This is designed mainly for handheld devices and not for conventional computers. As far as I know, you are supposed to leave programs running in the background rather than manually ending them. Windows 8 will terminate idle programs after some period of inactivity.
